Implants Surgery in NSW Australia, North Ryde, West Ryde, Paramatta, Brisbane

Dental implants are usually recommended in cases where people have lost some of their teeth due to injury or periodontal disease. Most people prefer dental implants, rather than living with missing teeth, as this can be embarrassing and often a crushing effect on self-esteem.

But What is a Dental Implant? What types of dental implant surgeries are performed today and what procedures are included for dental implants?

What is Dental Implant?

Dental implants are the roots of artificial teeth that are either attached to your jaw or placed on top of them so that they can hold a replacement tooth or bridge.

Types of Dental Implants?

Here are two types of Dental Implants:

1. Endosteal

It is the most widely used Dental Implant. Endosteal Dental Implants are placed in the jawbone by screws, cylinders or blades (surgically, of course). Each Implant can easily hold one or more artificial teeth.

2. Subperiosteal

In some cases, patients who have a minimal bone height (response) and are unable to wear conventional teeth to use subperiosteal dental implants. These implants are placed over the jaw using a metal structure that is stretched with glue to hold the dentures or teeth.

Dental Implant Procedure:

There are five general treatment plans that are tailored to the patient's dental needs. Physicians and periodontists consult with patients on which method is best for them. Here are five common methods:-

1. Single tooth replacement-
Patients who have lost only one tooth undergo this procedure? A crown and an implant can easily replace the affected area.

2. Multiple teeth replacement-
If there is more than one tooth that needs replacement, dental specialists use implant-supported bridges that can replace many missing teeth.

3. Complete Tooth Replacement-

In some cases, where patients lose all their teeth, Complete Dentures or Implant-supported complete Bridges are used to replace them.

4. Sinus Augmentation-

This procedure is applied when periodontists have difficulty implanting dentures or Bridges. Dition is the most difficult place to perform a Dental Implant in the back of the upper jaw. This is where the sinus enlargement procedure is performed. In this procedure, the sinus floor is raised along with the developing bone to properly protect the Dental Implants.

5. Ridge Changes-There are some cases where patients have bone defects in the jaw bone. Due to insufficient bone, this deformity is exposed by removing the glue from the girder-a procedure known as ridge change. For successful Implants and improved appearance, these defects are complemented by bone substitutes that enlarge the leaf.
